An assessment session with a parent is usually the most helpful first step to collect the child’s background information, developmental history and consider their possible needs. When working with children or young people I use creative ways to explore and understand their inner world and can arrange parent reviews to share our findings. It is sometimes more appropriate that I work with the parent only, providing them with the best support to go forward and support their child.</image:caption>
